About Us: Our People
Roger Taylor
Roger is a Notary Public and has been the guiding hand of Hedleys since it became an independent practice, having once been a branch office for the city firm of that name. As well as being the expert in some of the more esoteric of our areas of specialist knowledge, Roger has served in many roles including as a trustee and school governor. He has been instrumental in developing ties with lawyers in other jurisdictions.
Chris Hughes
Chris Hughes has worked alongside Roger over the years and has specialised in matters concerning estates and property. Like Roger, Chris is a Notary and able to validate documentation for other jurisdictions. He has served as a trustee and assists in various charitable organisations.
Chris Nicholls
Chris Nicholls is a former senior Civil Service lawyer who developed expertise in employment and litigation matters. He also sits as a part-time Chair in the Tribunals, which is an interesting contrast to appearing as an advocate.
Lewis Hulatt
Lewis has family law as his particular area of expertise, but also has a wide experience of dispute resolution in other areas. He is an accredited mediator and particularly experienced in settling family disputes. Like Chris Nicholls, Lewis also handles general civil court work and employment cases.
Sarah Christmas
Sarah originally joined Hedleys after attending law college to commence her second career, having previously been engaged in commerce. She has helped develop Hedleys' Scandinavian connections and has specialised in property law. Sarah has worked abroad, both within Europe and further afield.
Paul Smith
Having previously worked with Roger, Paul developed an independent business specialising in transportation law and has commercial litigation and insurance work at the centre of his professional experience. With such work, he is no stranger to resolving complex business problems and is based at Croydon.
Ole Lav
Ole has managed the Croydon office for Hedleys and has dealt with much of the commercial work emanating from his native Scandinavia.
