Fees

We aim to provide a personal and individually-tailored service. Sometimes we can agree a fixed amount, but on other occasions, the fees are determined according to the type of work carried out, the skill required, any urgency you require and the experience of the lawyer concerned.

Fees are normally based upon the time spent dealing with the matter in hand and we explain the hourly rate at the outset. You have the right to ensure that the fees charged by any solicitors are reasonable and you have the rights to challenge the fees charged. What and how you can challenge depends upon what kind of legal work was involved.

• We find that because we explain the basis of our charges at the outset of the work, our clients seldom feel the need to challenge our charges.
• Fixed fees - we often take recommendations from the Citizens' Advice Bureaux and agree to see people for a short initial interview under their referral scheme.
